Having less choice makes your life easier.
Because it saves your brain’s precious resources for the choices that matter.
If you are reluctant to go out and meet people, choose one set of clothes and always wear this. It will save astonishing amount of time for you to get ready.
If you are reluctant to go outside at all, choose one pair of shoes instead of twenty, and always wear this.
If you are not motivated to cook anything at home, choose one dish and always cook this. It could be a pot of vegetable soup, an omelet with a toast, or a risotto. It could be anything. Choose something and stick to it. If your body gets tired of the same dish, choose another dish and stick to that. This will save you time and money.
If you are reluctant to do your dishes, or to put them in the dish washer, choose one plate and only use this. At the end of a meal, you will have one plate and a fork (or a spoon), which will take you 10 seconds to wash.
If you are reluctant to respond to an email, put all the other emails in a folder, and leave only that one email your need to work on in your inbox. With less distraction, it will become a bit easier for you to respond to it.
If you are reluctant to write a blogpost, close all the other tabs and all the other files on your PC, only open the blogpost, and go to sleep. When you open the PC first thing in the morning, you will instantly see the blog you need to write without going through other distractions. This will make it a lot easier for you to start writing.
If you are reluctant to do something in your life, it is most likely because you have too many choices. Choose one, stick to it, and your will see your productivity boost, and your life actually moving forward.
